About Tim’s Tool Reviews
Who I Am
I’m Tim — a working tradesman who’s spent over 10 years swinging hammers, pulling wire, and solving problems on real job sites. I got my start helping my dad with projects around the house, and that turned into a career doing framing, trim carpentry, remodeling, and general contracting work. I’ve built decks in the rain, hung doors in hundred-year-old houses where nothing is square, and torn apart enough kitchens to know which tools hold up and which ones don’t.
Why This Site Exists
I started Tim’s Tool Reviews because I was tired of searching for honest tool advice and finding nothing but rewritten spec sheets. When I’m about to drop a few hundred bucks on a new miter saw or impact driver, I want to hear from someone who’s actually used it — not someone who unboxed it, took a photo, and called it a review. This site is here to help tradespeople and DIYers make smart purchasing decisions based on real-world performance, not marketing hype.
How I Test
Every tool I review gets put to work on actual job sites, in real conditions. I’m cutting lumber, driving fasteners, drilling through studs — the same stuff you’d be doing. I pay attention to things that matter on the job: ergonomics after a full day of use, battery life under load, durability when it gets bounced around in the truck bed. I don’t just read the specs and regurgitate them. If a tool impresses me, I’ll tell you. If it falls short, I’ll tell you that too.
What Makes This Site Different
This isn’t a content farm. There’s no team of writers cranking out reviews on tools they’ve never touched. It’s just me — a guy who uses these tools to make a living and wants to share what I’ve learned so you can spend less time researching and more time building.
